Katie & Tom | Everly At Railroad

One of my favorite things about this job is getting to photograph weddings for people I actually know. There’s just something fun about showing up on a wedding day already knowing the backstory, the personalities, and the little things that make a couple who they are. Katie’s been my neighbor across the street for the last ten years, so getting to shoot her and Tom’s wedding at Everly At Railroad felt extra special.

I’ve had a front row seat to their relationship from day one—literally. A few years ago, we started noticing Tom popping in and out of Katie’s place as they went on dates, and pretty quickly it was clear this wasn’t just a casual thing. The real giveaway? When Tom started helping with her big list of fixer-upper projects. Watching Tom jump right in and help tackle lots projects was kind of the moment we all thought, “Okay, this guy is sticking around!”

Over time, we got to watch them turn that house into their home, and seeing how easily they fit together made photographing their wedding feel really natural. The whole day at Everly At Railroad fit them perfectly—beautiful, relaxed, and full of the people who mean the most to them.

Being there with my camera just felt like documenting the next chapter of something we’ve watched unfold for years. And honestly, I can’t wait to keep seeing where life takes them—right from across the street, as always.
